WILDER, THORNTON (CARL VAN VECHTEN). STUDIO PHOTOGRAPH BY CARL VAN 
VECHTEN OF THORNTON WILDER FROM THE SKIN OF OUR TEETH.  Fine 7" x 
9-3/8" portrait of Wilder with Van Vechten's blindstamp at the bottom 
and his ink stamp on the verso along with his ink notations: "Thornton 
Wilder: The Skin of Our Teeth" and "xxv.ll.7/Aug 18 '48." This image 
shows Wilder standing with the lapels of his trenchcoat in his hands 
and staring off into the distance. This pose seems to be less common 
than the one of Wilder seated on a chair. Fine   $2500
