Pittsburg[h]: Press W. M. Dick & Co., 1899. First edition, Full cloth,
Duodecimo, 63 pages, black and white plates. Fair.
      Matthias Rush was born in 1814 in western Pennsylvania. This little
book of family history is rich in anecdotes and family connections. He
traces both his paternal and maternal lines. Speaks of several family
members who served in the Continental Army during the Revolutionary War,
much activity regarding distilling of whiskey, family members serving in the
Civil War, moving to Ohio and elsewhere, etc. Quite scarce. Bound in pebbled
cloth over flexible boards with patterned endpapers. Upper board is faded
and spotted, both hinges split but textblock holding firmly in place. Rear
free endpaper detached, a few minor stains inside. Portrait of Matthias Rush
plus two other photographs illustrate the book.    $100.00
