New York: Alfred A. Knopf, 1937. First printing, Full cloth, Octavo, xii,
1-430, xvi pages, Black & White photographs, illustrations. Fine in a Very
Good Dust Jacket, Jacket in Mylar protector.
      History of one of America's great newspaper organizations. Rich in
anecdotes of Baltimore history, Maryland politics, etc. Mencken was the
general editor and wrote the material covering the 1890s to 1920s. Bound in
maroon cloth over boards with gilt-stamped spine and upper board, burgundy
topstain. Minor extremity rubs. Jacket has several minor edge tears, rubs
along fore edge and joint folds, chips at corners and bottom edge of front
panel. White smudge on spine of jacket and a .25" x .5" chip to rear joint
fold about a third of the way up from bottom edge.    $65.00
