We offer today these two fine Doves Press items. Other books about the

Mackail, J. W. William Morris, an address delivered the XIth November
MDCCCC at Kelmscott House, Hammersmith, before the Hammersmith Socialist
Society. Hammersmith, The Doves Press, 1901. Original full limp vellum
lettered in gold on the backstrip. Book-plate on the inside front cover.
Pastedowns and (to a lesser extent) the text block wrinkled from expansion
and contraction of the vellum, otherwise fine. The binding is signed by The
Doves Bindery. 27 pp. Ransom / Private Presses and Their Books, p. 250 (300
copies printed on paper). $300.
Ruskin, John. Unto this last: four essays on the first principles of
political economy. Hammersmith, The Doves Press, 1901. Dark blue full
morocco binding decorated and lettered in gilt. Designed by
Cobden-Sanderson and bound by the Doves Bindery, 1921. Book-plates of
collectors Willis Vickery and Cortlandt Bishop on the front pastedown.
Joints and corners rubbed, small piece missing at the top of the backstrip,
the front and rear covers fine. Ransom / Private Presses and Their Books,
p. 251 (300 copies printed on paper). $1000.
