Dust jacket is in very good condition with only slight edge-wear and

Bogue, 1852. Illustrated by a hand-colored frontis by H. G. Hine and 
many black and white engraving in text. First edition. Full morocco 
gilt , a. e. g., florets in spine compartments and inner dentelles by 
Zaehnsdorf with marbled end papers. Fine. There is slight darkening 
to two edges of the boards from sun exposure. Also slight weakness to 
the front hinge.The original red cloth gilt decorative front panel 
and spine is bound in at rear. Laid-in is a charming hand-painted 
Christmas card from the same person who inscribed the book. Lovely

12 wood-engraved text illus. by Dalziel Brothers, Williams, Swain, 
Goves, Thompson after the designs of Maclise, Doyle, Leech, Landseer 
and Stanfield. Second issue of first edition edition. Original bright 
red embossed cloth with pictorial front board, showing a victorian 
hearth in gilt, lettering in gilt, a.e.g. Fine. The first page of ads 
is headed "New Edition of Oliver Twist". Rebacked with 3/4 of 
original spine laid down. Small closed tear to one page. Very good 
copy, bright and clean. No markings. Smith II 6.  $230.00

copy # 88. Grey buckram decorted with holly leaves in green. Signed
