Bachhoffner, George H(enry). CHEMISTRY AS APPLIED TO THE FINE ARTS.

A study of the composition and preparation of artist's pigments and the 
nature and characteristics of their ingredients, based on a series of 
lectures Bachhoffner (1810-1879) had given. He also authored a book on 
voltaic electricity and electromagnetism. This title includes a list of 
subscribers, who included Charles Eastlake. OCLC locates 12 copies, and no 
other copies were being offered by booksellers on the internet databases at 
the time this was catalogued. Hardcover. 5.75"x9", xvi + 172 pages, plus a 
folding table; publisher's pebbled cloth with a paper label; covers with 
some soil and wear, spine starting to flake a bit in two spots on the upper 
portion of the spine; hinges lightly shaken, pages slightly toned and with 
minor scattered spotting. [06444] $350.00
