2. KENNEDY, William Sloane [WALT WHITMAN]. REMINISCENCES
OF WALT WHITMAN WITH EXTRACTS FROM HIS LETTERS AND REMARKS
ON HIS WRITINGS. London: Alexander Gardner 1896. First
Edition. Brown and mustard boards. Hinges reinforced with
brown tape; mild soiling to covers. Uncommon early book on
Whitman. Very Good $100.00
3. PLATT, Isaac Hull [WALT WHITMAN]. WALT WHITMAN. Boston:
Small, Maynard & Co. 1904. First Edition. Limp blue cloth;
frontispiece photo of Whitman. An uncommon, relatively early
biography published in The Beacon Biographies series.
INSCRIBED and SIGNED by the author on the dedication page
which bears a printed dedication to Richard Maurice Bucke:
"To Miss Joan Frayn(?)--/who I am told was a/friend of my
friend/Maurice Bucke, with/kindest regards of
the/author./Isaac Hull Platt./February 1907." Someone has
written names of several bookshops from the early to
mid-20th century on the front endpaper. Very Good or better,
and not too common. $150.00
