Together with Three Tractates Concerning the Veins, Arteries, and Nerves: 
Exemplified with Large Anatomical Figures. Translated Out of Adrianus Spigelius. 
London: Printed by Mary Clark and sold by John Clark. 1678. Folio (14-1/2” 
tall). 2 parts in 1. (20),714;(4),44,(18)pp. Index. (The second part, authored by 
Spigelius, has its own title page.) Illustrated with over 300 woodcuts and 6 
anatomical figures (on 3 plates). Title printed in red & black. Rebound (circa 
1900?) in full blind paneled calf (antique style) with red calf spine label, 
hinges slightly scuffed. Blank fore-margin of title and a few early leaves with 
minor fraying, but overall a very pretty (tall & clean) copy of this important 
work by the great French surgeon, Pare (d. 1590).     $4,500.00 (trade

A reprint of the first edition in English that was printed in 1634. The 
illustrations through Book XVI (page 374) are mostly from the same blocks as the 
1634 edition. Wing P351.
