Wolters, 1687. [xlix], 574p, [xxiv, errata] Engraved frontispiece and
engraved portrait. 12mo. Bound in full period calf with embossed panel and
corner ornements on the covers, no spine label as is typical of the period.
Front hinge professionally repaired, else VG, tight and clean. De Medicina
was one of a series of treatises intended to embrace all knowledge proper
for a man on the world.
The whole body of medical literature belonging to the Hippocratic and
Alexandrian times is ably summarized, and a knowledge of the state of
medical science up to the times of the author (first century) is thus
conveyed to us which can be obtained from no other source. Encyclopedia

First edition. Small octavo. iv, 120p. Newly rebound with leather spine
and speckled paper boards, the original paper cover panel mount on upper
cover. Library stamps on title page and preface, general browning to paper
and light foxing, some pages with early repairs, including small loss of
