volumes.  The definitive edition of the Kuo-yu, or Conversations from 
the States, one of the classic chronicles dating from Chinese antiquity, 
the Spring and Autumn Era of Chinese history.  “The narratives in the 
Conversations are arranged according to the states [provinces] to which 
they pertain...the central court of Chou and the feudal states of Lu, 
Ch’i,Chin,Ch’u, Wu and Yueh.... Within the sections devoted to each 
state, the narratives are arranged chronologically, but there is no 
attempt to give a year by year account” (Watson 66). In blue covers with 
silk ties. A fine, handsome edition of a hard to find work.   $900
