Quartos, over 600 pages, black & white photographs, illus., maps. Fine in
near fine dust jackets, Jackets in Mylar protectors.
      Comprehensive history and genealogy of the Green Spring Valley north
of Baltimore, Maryland. Lots of information on the area's land grants, early
settlers, economic development, religious development, educational
development, as well as information on dozens of specific historic houses
and detailed genealogies of local families. The authors have gathered and
sifted an incredible amount of information to produce this monumental work,
including published and unpublished memoirs, interviews, private papers of
local families, and other primary sources such as contemporary newspapers,
vestry minutes, wills, deeds, census records, tax lists, etc. Bound in dark
green cloth over boards with lighter green cloth on fore half of boards,
green endpapers, gilt and black stamped spines. Slight darkening to gilt on
spines. Jackets have slight extremity rubs. Volume II jacket has a closed
3/4" tear at top edge and a closed 1/4" tear at bottom edge of front panel.
