CHAMPION, JOSEPH: A NEW AND ELEGANT SETT [sic] OF COPIES IN GERMAN TEXT,
WITH THE ENGROSSING ALPHABET. Philadelphia : J. Bioren, 1808. [16] leaves ;
6 x 18 cm. Language: English language Gothic script and an engrossing
alphabet. This last an alphabet meant for official document use. All leaves
are engravings on copper. This early American imprint is after an English
original. Shaw & Shoemaker; Nash 21. OCLC finds only TYC[Trinity] in the
USA, and Cambridge[CUD] in Europe with copies. Nash notes as well MWA and
NNC[Columbia]. The number of recorded copies has not increased in some 35
years. This is a new copy to the book world. All pages just a little
darkened, front wrap may be a replacement. The rear wrap is original. A
Very Good copy. $450.00
