periodical begun at San Francisco by John Norton Pomeroy in 1884;
with many issues prefaced by an article contributed and signed by
him, beginning with his exposition of riparian rights.

A work prompted by the proposal to revise this country's public
statutes, undertaken by Sanford while United States Charge
d'Affaires at Paris, comprehensively reviewing Europe's penal
codes, including France and Germany's and those of twenty others.

Peeres and Comons of Parliament, in Point of Judicature. Written by
a Learned Antiquerie, at the request of a Peere of this Realme.

A work variously attributed to Robert Cotton and John Selden,
briefly surveying the rise of Parliament's judicial and political
powers from the Anglo-Saxon centuries forward, with one allusion to
ancient Athens and express reliance upon Magna Carta.

The first edition in Latin of what has recently been termed "the
principal treatise of medieval Scots law", gathered together with
other important Scots legal sources, the use of which over the
centuries through the 15th continues to be debated.

Roughead characterized as "the most remarkable and dramatic of our
