and decorated in gold. Fine. One of 370 numbered copies. 332 pp. Warde / 
Bruce Rogers Designer of Books 94. Number 7 in the Grolier Club 
publication, A Century for the Century, an exhibition of 100 of the most 
beautiful, finely printed books produced during the Twentieth

67148.   Tory, Geofroy.   Champ fleury. Translated into English and 
annotated by George B. Ives.   New York, Grolier Club, 1927. Original 
quarter vellum and paste paper boards. Book- plate of Helena M. Hand on the 
front free endpaper (designed by Bruce Rogers and reproduced in Paragraphs 
on Printing). A fine, immaculate copy in publisher's box with repaired 
bottom joints. One of 397 copies. Printed by William Edwin Rudge, Mount 
Vernon, New York. One of the thirty books Bruce Rogers judged to be 
"successful" in a comment on his work reprinted in Paragraphs on Printing. 
Chosen by Stephen Harvard for BR Today ("[Rogers] has produced a superior 
example of evocative book design that is neither a caricature nor a copy of 
its predecessor").   $750.00
