Garden City Doubleday 1948 First Edition First Edition preceding the 
trade edition. Copy #1344 of 1426 deluxe numbered copies SIGNED by the 
author on the facsimile page of the D-Day Order to send the troops to 
storm the beaches of Normandy, which begins: "You are about to embark 
upon the Great Crusade, toward which we have striven these many 
months. The eyes of the world are upon you." The slipcase is intact 
with overall rubbing. Fine in original acetate and Near Fine slipcase, 
scarce thus.   $3500
