FS - (1298) vols of bound periodicals, mostly 1870 - 1967, a few from 1967
- 1982.

Brokering this lot for a brick and mortar shop. Standard terms below do NOT
apply to this offering.

These are bound volumes of periodicals. All are ex-lib, but my estimation
is that 95% of the volumes are VG to VG+ condition, not marked, not missing
anything, etc. Unexpectedly nice copies. Library markings, but minimal and
not ink-stamped till hell-won't-have-it. Most in cloth library bindings,
but the early literary reviews are quarter leather and some of those are
flaky as you might expect.

Very rough estimates of weights: Volumes weigh between 8 and 12 pounds,
with the majority being approximately 10 pounds. The entire lot would weigh
approximately 12,980 pounds. The lot is located in central Indiana. Pick-up
is recommended, but the lot could be banded to skids and shipped motor
freight if need be.

Entire lot is offered at $27,000 USD, which works out to $23.46/volume.
Offers considered. Prefer to sell the entire lot, but specific sub-lots can
be quoted separately.

Basically a life-time inventory for the ephemera or magazine dealer. Given
these specific titles, the whole batch distills about 3/4 century into 1298
volumes. As you might imagine, the Scientific Americans are fascinating and
well-illustrated: interesting to read about the amazing scientific and
technical discoveries of 1893, and the early 20th century. Just think...
wireless! electric motors! the reflector telescope! internal combustion
engines! American Home, Better Homes and Gardens, House and Garden, House
Beautiful, etc. show the trends of their times in both articles and
advertisements. Americas covers Latin America, Asia (is obvious), Art &
Archaeology during 1924 through 1933 is cool, Ebony from the early '60s is
a revelation, Hobbies primarily covers antiques & collecting from the '40s
- '60s. Newsweek, Independent, Time, Mentor, Christian Science Monitor, et
al, give a good look at news, politics, and literature of their era.

Best regards. -Michael Watson
