[Annapolis]: (s.n.), [1962?]. Full cloth, Quarto, Not paginated, black &
white diagrams, illustrations. Very Good, Issued without dustjacket.
      According to the preface, which is SIGNED by Weems, only a dozen
copies of this volume were produced. This copy bears Weems's bookplate on
the front free endpaper and "#2" in pencil at top edge of front pastedown.
Captain Weems was a pioneer in air navigation, and came out of retirement
for a second time at age 72 to conduct a pilot class in space navigation at
the U. S. Naval Academy in 1961. This volume consists of several addresses
and short articles produced during the year-long class, as well as a copy of
the book which resulted: "Space Navigation Handbook (NAVPERS 92988)." A
scarce and important artifact from the early space program. Bound in maroon
cloth over boards with gilt-stamped spine and upper board lettering. A few
light extremity rubs, some light surface scratches to cloth on upper board,
faint foxing to inner margins on endpapers.    $150.00
