Greetings All,

Where were you 41 years ago today?

For your consideration:
~
(No. 2532 ) Garrison, Jim. ON THE TRAIL OF THE ASSASSINS: MY INVESTIGATION
AND PROSECUTION OF THE MURDER OF PRESIDENT KENNEDY.
New York: Sheridan Square Press, (1988). First printing, Quarter cloth,
Octavo, xvi, 342 pages, B&w photographs. Very good in a good dust jacket,
Jacket in Mylar protector.
New Orleans District Attorney's efforts to unravel the conspiracy
responsible for the Kennedy assassination. Garrison brought the only
criminal case for the assassination when he prosecuted Clay Shaw on charges
of conspiracy to murder Kennedy in 1969. This is one of the vital books on
the assassination. Basis for Oliver Stone's film 'JFK.' Bound in orange
paper over boards backed with black cloth, gilt stamped spine lettering.
Minor edge wear. Jacket has some slight surface abrasions to laminate and a
touch of fading to heel of spine. Clean and sound. No prior ownership marks.
$75.00

~
(No. 7306 ) Oswald, Robert L. (with Myrick and Barbara Land). LEE: A
PORTRAIT OF LEE HARVEY OSWALD BY HIS BROTHER.
New York: Coward-McCann, Inc., (1967). First printing, Full cloth, Octavo,
246 pages, Black & white photograph section. Very good in a very good dust
jacket, Jacket in Mylar protector.
The older brother of Lee Harvey Oswald relates his and his family's
experiences with the Kennedy assassination investigation, including his
conversation with Lee in the Dallas jail on the 23rd of November. Much
information on Lee's childhood, their mother, the attitude of Lee's wife
Marina Oswald following the assassination, Robert Oswald's impressions of
the FBI and subsequent Warren Commission investigations, and much more. A
one-of-a-kind look at the tragic event and aftermath from the person who was
perhaps closest to the accused assassin. Bound in black cloth over boards
with gilt-stamped spine, blind stamped publisher's device at lower fore
corner of upper board. Light purple Library of Congress duplicate stamp on
front free endpaper. Jacket has minor edge rubs and wear, and some 1/4" deep
chipping across head of spine. There is also a short tear along lower joint
fold of jacket and a touch of fading to red lettering on jacket spine,
though not very noticeable. All in all an attractive and sound copy of this
fairly scarce Kennedy Assassination item. $100.00

(No. 3063 ) Thompson, Josiah. SIX SECONDS IN DALLAS: A MICRO-STUDY OF THE
KENNEDY ASSASSINATION.
(S.l.): Bernard Geis Associates, (1967). First printing, Quarter cloth,
Octavo, xx, 323 pages, b&w photographs, illustrations. Very good in a very
good, price clipped dust jacket, Jacket in Mylar protector.
One of the earliest and most credible refutations of the Warren
Commission. Makes a fascinating and quite convincing case for conspiracy by
careful analysis of the ample photographic evidence of the assassination,
including the original Zapruder film, films shot by three others that day,
and a mountain of still photographs shot by various witnesses--many
published here for the first time. Shortly before publication Thompson was
suddenly and unexpectedly denied reproduction rights for the Zapruder film,
which formed a critical part of his evidence. As a result most of the
Zapruder frames used in the book had to be reproduced by an artist as
charcoal sketches. Thompson and publisher Geis were understandably concerned
that the public would find sketches of the Zapruder frames somehow less
convincing than photo-reproductions of the frames themselves. In hindsight,
however, it may have been a benefit as the drawings, while remaining very
accurate in reproducing the original frames, are much clearer than the film
itself. The evidence is clearly presented and logically interpreted, and
whether or not Thompson is able to convince you that three gunmen fired at
the president in Dealey Plaza, you'll never be able to say 'Warren Report'
with a straight face again. Extensive appendices, including master list of
witnesses, Cyril Wecht's criticism of the JFK autopsy, time calculations
made from the Zapruder film, etc. Bound in red paper over boards backed with
blue cloth. Gilt and red stamping to spine, gilt stamped ornaments to upper
board, photo-illustrated endpapers. Shallow wrinkling to cloth edges at
spine ends. Jacket has a few rubbed wrinkles at extremities and the usual
light soil to rear panel. An attractive, solid copy in better condition than
normally found. No prior ownership marks. $100.00
