Four beautiful hand coloured engravings from Sydenham Edwards, The
Botanical Register (1815), these are circa 1841. The Register was founded by
Sydenham Edwards in 1815 to promote an understanding of ornamental flowers
cultivated in British gardens, though originally found in overseas
countries. Edwards had been one of the original botanical artists for
Curtis's Botanical Magazine. The Register was published through 1847. One
engraving has a white 2 inch mat, they all are accompanied by a page of
text. The engravings are: Echeveria lurida; Cymdiium pubescens (Downy-lipped
Cymbidiym); Cyrtochilum filipes (Thread-stalked Curvelip); Tabernaemontana
dichotoma (The Forked Tabernaemontana). One has a slight stain to the edge
(which would be covered by a mat). Interested parties will send digitals.
