First  Edition. Two volumes in original brown cloth stamped in  black.
Illustrated  with  76 text woodcuts. Based on the first issue  of  the
English  edition  published  in the same year, Freeman (p.  29)  notes
that  this  edition represents a cleaner text of the first issue  than
the  English edition. Bottom front corner of the first volume a little
chewed.  Owner signature of George S. Carmichael on the first blank of
each  volume.  Bit of fraying to spine tips, some soiling.  Very  Good
