heading), as well as numerous text drawings, many of the illustrations from designs
by George Cruikshank. Bound in publisher’s deluxe full green morocco, blind and
gilt stamped, extremities lightly scuffed. A.e.g. Scarce. $500.00 (trade

Grimm’s tales were first translated by Edgar Taylor (d. 1839) in 1823-1826,
as GERMAN POPULAR STORIES. Our 1839 edition is a new compilation by Taylor
published in the year of his death.
