Cushing, Luther S. REPORTS OF CONTESTED ELECTIONS IN THE HOUSE OF
REPRESENTATIVES, OF THE COMMONWEALTH OF MASSACHUSETTS; FROM 1780 to 1834,
INCLUSIVE...
Boston; Dutton and Wentworth, printers to the state: 1834.
A very interesting compilation, describing a number of contested elections
from early in the history of elections in the United States. The report was
"compiled from the journals, files, and printed documents of the House" to
help in looking at prior decisions and precedents when dealing with newly
contested elections. Of great historical interest, but of no contemporary
relevance, as the days of controversy over elections seem long past.
Hardcover. 6"x9", xv + 282 pages; bound in old full sheep with a leather
spine label; covers scuffed, some wear, light internal toning. [06450] $125.00
