The first volume is divided into sections: Dans le Commencement de leur 
Passion. Pour se rendre heureux. Dans leur Bonheur. This is true of the 
second volume as well, but here exemplary lovers are introduced and object 
lessons are taught in a somewhat novelized manner interspersed with words 
of wisdom. Sections in Vol. II: Dans le Depit. Dans L'Inconstance.Que Les 
Hommes & les Femmes n'Aiment pas de la meme maniere.  While there are some 
of the characteristics of a courtesy book here, this is primarily a manual 
for gaining success with the opposite sex.  No copies of this work are 
found in OCLC. It is also lacking in HLS, YUS, NYP, CIC, Melvyl,HRH and LC. 
However KVK notes copies at the BN, BL, Wolfenbuettel, Goettingen and 
Halle. Gay & Lemonnyer 810. A reprint of 1684 is noted in the Hague. Only 
in the French National Library is found a copy dated 1643 and published in 
Paris, FRBNF39336073.  Original vellum with the inked ownership cipher atop 
the title page of A.b+1/2c. A Fine copy. $875.00
