              TWAIN,  Mark  [CLEMENS, Samuel]. THE CELEBRATED JUMPING
          FROG OF  CALAVERAS  COUNTY, AND OTHER SKETCHES. New York:  C.
          H. Webb  1869. Third Edition. Original terra-cotta cloth with
          a frog  stamped in gilt in the lower left corner of the front
          cover and  stamped in blind in the same position on the  rear
          cover.  BAL  3310.  The Third Edition of Mark  Twain's  first
          book first  published in 1867. Owner pencil name on the  dark
          brown front  endpaper. Slightly shaken but tight,  contents a
          little  aged  but  clean. Cloth worn at corners and  tips  of
          spine which  is  darkened  but with the  gilt  still  strong.
          Overall a Very Good copy of this early edition.      $1000.00
