Severt, Jacques. (Jacobo Severtio; Jacobus Severtius). CHRONOLOGIA
HISTORICA SUCCESSIONIS HIERARCHICAE ANTISTITUM LUGDUNENSIS
ARCHIEPISCOPATUS GALLIARUM PRIMATUS ET SUFFRAGANEARUM DIOECESEUM. CUM
BREVI EXPOSITIONE ARTICULORUM FIDEI CATHOLICAE QUI IN PLERISQUE
CONCILIIS, PRAESENTIBUS IISDEM PRIMATIBUS... DEFINITI FUERE... OPUS
TRIPARTITUM....AUTHORE JACOBO SEVERTIO... Lugduni: Armand, 1607.
[xii], 550 pp., index [23], errata [1]. Sm. 4to. Vellum. First
edition. Brunet, p.322 (1628 ed).

Servert's history of the French Catholic clergy was reprinted in 1608
and a second edition was issued in 1628. RLIN and OCLC show only a
few copies of the second edition. Outside of the BN and French
libraries, the first edition is listed in the Vatican Library, the
BL, and Staats- und Stadtbibliothek Augsburg. ABPC lists none at
auction and only one other work by Severt in the last forty years.
Scarce. With the bookplate of Josephi Courbon ...Sacrae Theologiae
Doctoris....Lugdunensi (Lyon) and from the lib of Aug[ustin] Saddeti
noted on the title page.

Vellum soiled, small remnants of labels on spine and rear board,
upper rear corner worn with some loss, about two dozen leaves with a
few neat underlinings, or marginal lines, or one or two words noted,
scattered foxing, binding tight, impressions good, overall about very
good. [26148] $500.00
