[Rarebooks] FS: Signed by Frost, with a line of poetry & a portrait

FROST, ROBERT.  SELECTED POEMS.         N. Y. : Henry Holt & Co., (2nd 
printing, Dec., 1929.)  Original cloth/boards, lettering on spine flaked 
off, ends of spine slightly  rubbed, collector's signature and bookplate on 
front paste-down end paper, no d.w.  Tipped in over the advt. opposite the 
title page is a 4 1/2 X 2 3/4-inch photo of Frost standing in front of a 
(pine?) tree; he is wearing a suit coat and  has his hands clasped.  The 
lower right margin of the photo has a crease. Beneath his name on the title 
page he has written  his name and "one had to be versed in country 
things."  This is the penultimate line in the poem which appears on pp. 
73-74 of the book: "The Need of Being Versed in Country Things," a haunting 
reflection on a burned-out homestead.  $2500.00
