OVID.  OPERA OMNIA, IN TRES TOMOS DIVISA, CUM INTEGRIS NICOLAI HEINSII,
D. F., LECTISSIMISE VARIORUM NOTIS . . . [AND EDITED BY]  BORCHARDI 
CNIPPINGII.  Lugduni Batavorum [Leiden]: Hackiana, 1670.  3 volumes, 
octavo, old full vellum, spines rubbed and darkened.  Each volume has an 
extra engraved title page; vol. One also has a printed title page,  Vol. 
Two ("Metamorphoses")  contains 15 attractive plates (one for each 
Book.)  The engraved title pages are after S[imon] Vouet, prominent 17th 
Century artist; all the engravings are by P[ierre] Philippe, a Dutch 
engraver who died in the Plague of 1664.  These illustrations appeared in 
an earlier edition of Ovid's Works.
A tight, clean set.   $450.00
