 From the pen of the original "Lizard King"...

Cope, Edward Drinker. THE CROCODILIANS, LIZARDS AND SNAKES OF NORTH
AMERICA [in the] Annual Report of the Board of Regents of the Smithsonian
Institution: 1898.

Washington; Smithsonian Institution: 1900.

Along with Cope's important study of American amphibia ("The Batrachia of
North America" -1889), this massive work helped solidify the science of
American herpetology.

Hardcover. 6.5"x9", 1294 pages, 347 text illustrations, plus 36 b&w plates;
covers with some light soil, front hinge poor; overall a bit dusty, but
overall a nice copy of a heavy report printed in thin, cheap paper and not
bound very well.

Used to be $175.00
