Hawley, Thomas. AMERICAN STEAM ENGINES. Their Practical Operation and Economy.

Boston; Published by the author: 1932. 3rd edition.

A riveting sojourn into the fast-paced world of the steam engine, as used
for all sorts of purposes (was there ever a -bad- purpose for using a steam
engine? I think not). The author was founder of the Hawley School of
Engineering and the former Massachusetts State Inspector of Boilers; this
third edition is substantially updated. A scarce work in the marketplace; a
single copy is currently being offered on the internet, at a substantially
higher (but really quite reasonable) price. We offer this copy for much
less since it is not in our field of expertise and we hope to move it out
quickly to a good, loving home.

Hardcover. 6.5"x9.5", 503 pages, b/w illustrations; some wear and soil-
cover with some light spots, soil, etc; contents a bit dusty, a little
soil, slight stain on lower outer page corners for the last 100 pages. Used
but not abused. [07792] $125.00
