[PAMPLETS].  BOUND VOLUME OF OVER 16 PAMPHLETS  CA. 1790-91 RELATING 
PRINCIPALLY TO AVIGNON AND ITS STATUS WITHIN FRANCE.   Contemporary calf, 
some wear, name "Mr. Cheynet" goldstamped on the cover, marbled end papers 
and marbled sides.  Notably included is a "Discours de M. Robespierre . . . 
a L'Assemblee Nationale, sur la Petition du Peuple Avignonois," Paris, 
1790.  The final item, "Comte Rendu," 1791, may lack the final 
page(s).  One pamphlet is repeated.  (1791 was a climactic year for 
Avignon, in which the Papal rule of over 500 years was ended, and Avignon 
incorporated into France, and the status of the Comte Venaissin returned to 
his traditional position in the Comtat Venaissin.  Also of interest is a 
"Notice des Actes
D'Acceptation de Roi . . ." 1790/91, listing the King'a acceptance of the 
Constitution, the Declaration of the Rights of Man, an act relating to 
Jews, Portuguese. Spaniards & Avignonois, &c, &c.  Some of the pamphlets 
have proper title pages, and some have
caption-titles only, probably as issued.   $375.00
