One of many fine Spring New Arrivals posted on our web site
http://www.erols.com/agvent
DOUGLASS, Frederick. AUTOGRAPH QUOTE SIGNED matted and framed
with a portrait. A fine quote in Douglass's hand and SIGNED by him on
a 4-1/4" x 2-3/4" piece of paper matted with a striking reproduction
portrait of Douglass (4-1/2" x 6-1/4"), both recessed with marbled
paper borders in a handsome wood frame under glass with a total size
of 19" x 15". The quote is a resonant one: "Men differ like the
waves/but they are one like the sea." The verso of the framed piece
has a certificate of authenticity from a Beverly Hills autograph
dealer, and though there is no indication anywhere of this, this
piece recently hung in the home of Marlon Brando. Fine, beautiful
presentation. $4500.00
