HALL.
Baltimore: Nunn & Company, 1908. First printing, Full cloth, Octavo, 130
pages, B&w photographic plates. Good.
      Chloe Angeline Stickney Hall (1830-1892) was the wife of Asaph Hall,
the U.S. Naval Observatory astronomer who discovered the two moons of Mars
in 1877. This biography, written by her son, covers Angeline's own career in
mathematics which was cut short due to marriage, her support of her
husband's career, her letters to various contemporaries, the Halls' life in
Georgetown, etc. Tissue-guarded frontispiece photograph of Angeline Hall.
Bound in original grey cloth over boards with dark blue cloth spine, gilt
stamping to spine and upper board. Minor edge wear with a few shallow bumps.
Cleanly repaired 1" edge tear to leaf 11/12 which is now barely noticeable.
Light water tide stain to fore edge margins of approximately last half of
the leaves in the book.    $75.00
