Mifflin  Company  (1919).  Second  Edition. A later  printing  of  the
enlarged  Second Edition of the Speeches and Addresses of the  elected
governor    of    Massachusetts  and    future   President.   Portrait
frontispiece.  INSCRIBED  and  SIGNED by the author to  J.  E.  Holmes
"With  Regards/Calvin  Coolidge"  on the front free endpaper.  At  the
death  of Warren Harding, Coolidge received word that he was President
on  3  August  1923 at 2:30 A.M. while visiting his father,  a  notary
public,  who  administered the Presidential oath of office by  lantern
light.  Some  fading  to the cloth and edgewear  to  the  dustwrapper,
though the front panel is whole and attractive. Very Good in uncommon,
Very Good dustwrapper.                                        $1250.00
