 Ginter, Richmond Va. 10 pages of lithographed Tropical Birds, used as
    Cigarette Card advertising between 1880 & 1895, by Major Lewis Ginter 
and     John Allen & Co. Allen had a tobacco company in Richmond, Va., when 
in 1875 Lewis Ginter joined him and they started packaging rolled 
cigarettes. The pages of this booklet contain beautiful composites of 
various birds from
 these cards, image size at 1 1/2 b 2 3/4, 4 to 6 images per page, each has 
a
 lithographed backround of an exotic area of the world. Bird images are
 glossy, against a glossy backround, very striking. Front wrap shows a
 peacock and other birds against a floral backround, verso is illustrated
 with various advertisments, "Richmond Straight Cut No 1., Virginia Brights,
 Opera Puffs, Richmond Gem., Dubec, Napoleon, Dixie, Dainties,
 Egyptians.....Mild rubbing to front wrap, and first page, 2 of 4 bird
 images, else brilliant glossy images. Firm in ties, mild offsetting to 
blank
 verso of pages. Very mild soil to front wrap, corners at tie midly rubbed.
 Rear wrap also lithographed with bird scene, midly rubbed, AG logo, soil,
 closed tear near third hole of string, verso illustrated advertising for 
the
