[RYAN,  Nolan] BRIGGS, Jennifer et al. NOLAN RYAN. THE  AUTHORIZED
PICTORIAL  HISTORY.  Fort  Worth, TX: The Summit Group  (1991).  First
Edition.  Folio  (10"  x  12-1/4") in  blue  boards  and  dustwrapper.
Illustrated  with  many  photographs,  mostly color, of  the  Hall  of
Famer.  Brief foreword by then Texas Rangers Managing General Partner
George W. Bush. SIGNED by the all-time strikeout king (Ryan NOT Bush) on
a special certificate mounted on the front free endpaper, one of 5308
numbered  copies as such, each representing one of Ryan's  strikeouts.
This  particular  copy is victim 2329, Lee Stanton, on 25  July  1977.
Ryan  was  the 295th player selected in professional baseball's  first
amateur  draft in 1965. Selected by the New York Mets, Ryan would stay
with  that  team until 1971 when he was traded along with three  other
players,  including  Lee  Stanton, for infielder Jim  Fregosi.  Though
Ryan  set many records and pitched seven no-hitters, he never won  the
coveted  Cy  Young  Award.  Publisher's  Certificate  of  Authenticity
