SWISS  SCENERY  FROM DRAWINGS BY MAJOR COCKBURN and  ITALIAN  SCENERY.
London:  James  Reynolds [1820]. First Edition. Incomplete  copies  of
both  works  bound together in one volume, quarto (6-1/2"  x  9-1/2"),
half  green  morocco  with gilt designs and  a  gilt-lettered  leather
spine  label.  Each engraved title is present, and each volume has  49
of  the original 60 steel engravings present, giving a total of 100 of
the  original 122 engravings present. Two of the finest steel-engraved
illustrated  books  of the 19th century. Scattered light  foxing;  one
plate  in  Cockburn--"Fluellen"--with a clean 2" tear into  the  image
repaired on the verso with tape. Very Good                    $1500.00
