Large  octavo  (5-5/8"  x  9-1/4") in contemporary  Russia  calf  with
blindstamped  lozenge pattern and gilt ruling on the borders, recently
and  handsomely  rebacked  with  a new, sympathetic  calf  spine  with
blindstamping    and  gilt  lettering   and  decorations.  The   First
Rowlandson  Edition  with  24  lovely hand-colored  aquatints  by  the
artist.  Complete  with  the Introduction leaf and  the  Advertisement
leaf.  Bookplates  of the noted collector Ralph Heyward Isham  on  the
pastedown  and  Dr.  Samuel L. Siegler on the  front  endpaper.  Fine,
fresh copy in attractive binding. Fairly scarce.              $2000.00
