Tomorrow we will be posting our new, short list of items for the Boston Book 
Fair including two fine Ezra Pound items, early illustrated titles on the Middle 
East, a superb presentation copy by Calvin Coolidge to the Republican National 
Chairman, one of the earliest illustrated books on fish from 1554, books signed 
by Jack London and Buffalo Bill, and more.

MALLOCK.   London:  A.  C.  Fifield   1910.  Second  Edition.   Fabian
Socialists  Series  No.  8. Original cloth-backed  boards,  59  pages.
Laurence  A102b. Frontispiece photograph of Shaw taken by the subject.
The  First Edition of 1909, Fabian Tract No. 146, consisted of only 24
pages  in  wraps and did not have the photograph. This copy  INSCRIBED
and  SIGNED  by  the  author   "to  Charles  Sarolea/from  G.  Bernard
Shaw./14th  Dec. 1911" on the front endpaper, with Sarolea's signature
on  the title page. Additionally, laid in is a brief AUTOGRAPH  LETTER
SIGNED  (ALS)  by  Shaw to Sarolea on his stationery dated  12th  Dec.
1911:  "Dear  Sarolea  Will  you lunch with us at  Adelphi  Terrace  on
Thursday  at  1:30? What became of you on your last visit? We  invited
you  to  lunch; but you didn't answer and didn't come. Yours  ever  G.
Bernard  Shaw."  Charles Sarolea (1870-1953) was Professor  of  French
Literature  at  Edinburgh  University, author of  books  on  politics,
literature,  and  social  movements,  and  editor  of  the  Everyman's
Library  series.  Some fading and rubbing to boards. Housed  in  cloth
chemise and slipcase. About Very Good in Fine slipcase.       $1750.00
