[WILDE, Oscar--attributed translator] D'AUREVILLY, Barbey. WHAT
NEVER DIES: A ROMANCE. Paris: Privately Printed 1902. First Edition.
Stated limitation of 500 copies, this work was offered as a
translation by Oscar Wilde but later refuted by Paris publisher
Charles Carrington. In any case our copy is in a beautiful unsigned
full burgundy morocco binding with five raised bands and extensive
gold tooling on the spine and both covers, each of which also has 28
small diamond-shaped black morocco inlays. Some minor rubbing to the
top joint of both covers but quite nice. Beautifully bound copy of
this literary curiousity. $350.00
