439 pp. Illus. with b/w plates, diagrs, and 1 folding map (frontis). 
Folio. (31.5 x 27 cm). Quarterbound brown morocco over blue cloth 
boards, gilt titles and devices to spine and front board, top edge 
gilt, fore and bottom edges deckled (hardback).  First edition, large 
paper limited edition. Number 37 of 54 copies of the large paper 
edition signed by Langdon.

Scarce in this edition. OCLC and RLIN list only the Harvard copy as 
this edition.

Boards and spine rubbed, gilt bright, front free endpaper offset, 
small tears to the front joint but binding still firm, rear endpapers 
a bit darkened, leaves clean and crisp, a very good or better copy.
