(RACKHAM,  Arthur)  GOLDSMITH,  Oliver. THE  VICAR  OF  WAKEFIELD.
London:  George  G.  Harrap  & Co 1929. First  Edition.  Quarto  (8" x
10-1/2")    bound  in  the   original  full   gilt-decorated   vellum.
Illustrated  with  12  color plates and 22 black and  white  drawings.
Copy  #330  of  575  of the English issue SIGNED  by  the  illustrator
Arthur  Rackham.  There  were also 200 in the  American  issue.  Small
adhesive  remnant  of  a  bookplate on the verso  of  the  front  free
endpaper.  Some  spotting to the spine, a little less so to the  front
cover.  In  the  original box, not noted by Latimore  and  Haskell  in
their  bibliography  of  Rackham and never seen by us  before.  It  is
green  cardboard,  the bottom with a smooth white surface and the  top
with  a  printed  label  containing  the title of  the  book  and  the
limitation  number  on  one flap. The box is in Very  Good  condition,
complete  with tears at most corners and one tear on one bottom  flap.
Fine copy in the scarce original box.                         $2000.00
