Ledieu, M.A[lfred]. ETUDE SUR LES BATEAUX SOUS-MARINES.

An offprint from the Comptes rendus des seances de l'Academie des Sciences, 
Vol.CVII, No.21. (1888). A short paper which covers a variety of topics 
having to do with early submarines, including piston and electric 
propulsion, pressure, stability, and fumes. Alfred Ledieu was a former 
French naval officer and professor of hydrography who published several 
books on marine technology. An interesting item from the early days of 
submarine development. Self-wraps; 8.5"x11", 20 pages, 1 diagram in the 
text. The cover page is the Index, followed by the title page; protected by 
period cello-wrap. Some light soil. [05617] $150.00
