CARTER, Jimmy. THE BLOOD OF ABRAHAM. Inscribed to Phyllis  Diller.
Boston:  Houghton  Mifflin Company 1985. First Edition. INSCRIBED  and
SIGNED  in  full  by  the author on the  front  endpaper:  "With  love
to/Phyllis  Diller/Jimmy Carter/1-30-86." Comedienne Phyllis  Diller's
SIGNATURE  on  the  title page with a note in her hand on  the  facing
page:  "The  definitive  book/on  the Middle East."  In  addition  one
sentence  in  the  Acknowledgments  section  has  been  underlined  by
Diller.  Laid  in is a greeting card apparently made for  Diller  of a
Don  Knudsen  cartoon of a woman attempting to wake a man  from  sleep
with  the  following caption: "The Russians are invading Florida,  Mt.
St.  Helens  blew  again, President Carter left his wife and  ran  off
with  Phyllis  Diller....Now that I have your attention..." Near  Fine
in a Near Fine dustwrapper.                                    $750.00
