engraved headpieces. Cont. gilt ruled sheep, somewhat rubbed. Very nicely rebacked 
in period style in brown morocco, orig. red calf spine labels laid down. Both 
vols. with mounted gift inscriptions & ownership signatures dated 1786 and 
1790. Engraved armorial bookplates on front pastedowns.     $300.00 (trade

John Byrom (1692-1763) was a poet and stenographer “and inventor of the 
Universal English Short-Hand.”
