Offered to the highest bidder on a major Internet auction site this week,
an interesting piece of Modern Library Ephemera, sold without reserve,
because Life is just better without reserves, isn't it?

"IMPORTANT ADDITIONS FOR SPRING, 1935. THE MODERN LIBRARY. A COMPLETE LIST
OF 236 TITLES -Including the 'Giants'"

A very interesting tidbit for the collector of Modern Library editions- the
Spring, 1935 catalog! New titles that Spring included John Reed's "Ten Days
That Shook the World", and works by Robinson Jeffers and Somerset Maugham.
New titles in the "Giants" series included "The Complete Works of Homer",
"Eleven Famous Plays of Ibsen", and "Renaissance in Italy" by John
Addington Symonds. This is followed by a listing all 215 backlist titles in
the series, with the tear-off order blank on the rear cover (see photos).

A fun item for the 'Modern Library' completeist.
