ANDERSON, Sherwood. HORSES AND MEN. TALES, LONG AND SHORT, FROM
OUR AMERICAN LIFE. New York: B. W. Huebsch, Inc. 1923. First Edition.
Fine in light orange cloth with a perfect paper label. The dust
jacket is bright and intact--with no chipping--but there is a small
closed tear which has caused some wrinkling on the lower front panel.
This copy has been SIGNED by the author on the half-title page and
there is a small notation in pencil on the front blank: "autograph by
Anderson for F.W.S." This copy was previously owned by Frederick W.
Skiff (noted Portland rare book collector and author of ADVENTURES IN
AMERICANA) and then became part of the Estelle Doheny Collection of
American Literature. Both the Skiff and Doheny bookplates are
present. Signed copies of Anderson's books in fine condition are
becoming very difficult to find. $750.00
