BENET,  Stephen Vincent. HEAVENS AND EARTH. New York:  Henry  Holt
1920.  First  Edition.  Gilt-decorated purple boards. Affixed  to  the
front  pastedown  is an envelope addressed by Benet  and  containing a
two-page  AUTOGRAPH LETTER SIGNED by the author written from Paris  to
Henry  Winslow at the YMCA in Bennington, Vermont. A long,  apologetic
response  to  an inquiry to have a book signed. Slight  smudging  to a
few  words including "Benet." Book has very light wear and sunning  to
the  very edges; dustwrapper complete but for small chips at the spine
tips   not  affecting  any  lettering.  Near   Fine  in  a  Very  Good
dustwrapper.                                                   $350.00
