We are pleased to offer:

CONRAD, Joseph. Five Letters by Joseph Conrad Written to Edward Noble
in 1895. London: Privately printed, 1925. Octavo, printed wrappers.
Very light soiling of wrappers, fine. One of 100 copies signed by
Noble. $300.00

CONRAD, Joseph. One Day More. A Play in One Act. (Westminster:
Beaumont Press, 1919). Octavo, blue and yellow original decorated
boards, vellum gilt lettered spine, printed paper label on front
cover. A little bowed, lower corners slightly bumped, paper over
boards starting to split at lower edge by join to vellum spine,
albeit a fine copy. First published edition. One of 24 copies on
Japanese vellum, signed by Conrad.
One Day More is Conrad's dramatization of his story Tomorrow, which
first appeared in Pall Mall Magazine, August 1902, and was then
included in Typhoon and Other Stories. The dramatized version was
first published in The English Review, August 1913. This edition uses
the text from that first appearance, thus not incorporating any of
the few alterations found in the pamphlet printed by Shorter. [Cagle
A20b(2). Keating 51. Wise 27].	$3,500.00

CONRAD, Joseph. An Outcast of the Islands. New York: D. Appleton,
1896. Octavo, original green cloth blind-stamped in black and red,
spine gilt-lettered and stamped in black. Spine very lightly browned,
inscription in ink on front free endpaper, fine. First U.S. edition.
Passages depicting love making between Willems and Aissa were removed
from this edition because the title was intended for inclusion in a
family library series. The American editors supplied their own
linking passages where necessary! Appleton reprinted this text once
in 1921, after which the plates were purchased by Doubleday, Page,
which reprinted the novel in 1916, 1917, and 1922, before discarding
the plates in favor of their Sun-Dial Edition setting of the text.
[Cagle A2b(2), binding a. Keating 6].	$650.00

CONRAD, Joseph. A Personal Record. New York: Harper & Brothers,
1912. Octavo, original dark blue cloth, gilt-lettered spine and
cover. Spine slightly browned, slight rubbing of top and bottom of
spine and lower corners, very trifling browning of endpapers, else a
fine copy. First U.S. edition.
This was set from uncorrected proofs of the Nash first English
edition, causing many textual variations between the two editions.
This version of the text was not reprinted. [Cagle A15c, binding a.
Keating 94].	$175.00

CONRAD, Joseph. The Point of Honor. A Military Tale. New York:
McClure, 1908. Frontispiece illustration in colour. Octavo, original
green cloth pictorially stamped in cream and gold, spine lettered in
gold. Extremely light rubbing of bottom edges and top of upper
corners. A fine copy. First American edition. [Cagle A13c, binding
a. Keating 83. Wise p. 42].	$475.00

CONRAD, Joseph. Tales of Hearsay. London: T. Fisher Unwin, (1925).
Octavo, original dark green ribbed cloth, gilt-lettered spine and
cover, pictorial dust jacket. Dust jacket very lightly chipped at top
and bottom of spine and lower edge, old cello tape repair to top of
spine on inside, else a fine copy. First edition. With a preface by
Cunninghame Graham.
The stories included in this posthumous volume are The Warrior's
Soul, Prince Roman, The Tale and The Black Mate, all of which had
been privately printed between 1917 and 1922. The title of the
collection is apparently one which Conrad himself had planned to use
for a future collection of short stories. [Keating 193. Smith 27].
	$235.00

CONRAD, Joseph. Within the Tides. Tales. Garden City: Doubleday,
Page, 1916. Octavo, original blue cloth decorated in gilt, lettered
in gilt on spine. A fine copy. First U.S. edition. [Cagle A18b.
Keating 108. Smith 19. Wise 23].	$200.00

CONRAD, Joseph and HUEFFER, Ford M. The Inheritors. An Extravagant
Story. London: William Heinemann, 1901. Octavo, original yellow
cloth, pictorially stamped in black, black-lettered spine. Slight
rubbing and fading of spine, endpapers browned and with slight
foxing, first few and last few leaves a little foxed, a few leaves
opened carelessly, albeit a fine copy. First English edition, first
issue.
Without the dedication leaf, which was omitted from this printing but
later tipped into some copies, at Conrad's insistence. Although it
was to have been tipped in to all copies, Cagle reports that in his
examination of 23 copies, the leaf was present in only four. [Cagle
A6(3), binding a. Keating 32. Wise 9].	$500.00
