BOSTON.... New York: Charles Wiley 1825, 1824. First Edition. Two
volumes bound in full marbled calf with gilt-ruled borders and gilt
decorations on the spines and matching gilt-lettered black morocco
spine labels. BAL 3832, probable early impression with signature mark
11 present in the second volume; Spiller & Blackburn 6. A
Revolutionary War tale set in Boston. Both blank front endpapers and
half titles lacking. Owner ink stamp on pastedowns, title pages,
dedication pages, and last pages of text. Two brief splits to joints
of first volume; second volume with small repair to spine and a strip
of leather peeled off the rear cover which is loose but held firmly
by the cords. Evenly and moderately foxed. Very Good in attractive
binding. $250.00
