Philadelphia Public Ledger, Unrivaled Atlas of the World:  Containing 
Colored Maps of Every Country and Civil Division Upon the Face of the Globe, 
Drexel, George W. Childs, Editor and Publisher, Rand McNally, Chicago, 1900:
A unique Atlas, providing all the maps of the World, with listings in the 
margins of Country Divisions, and Chief Cities. Each map is in Color, very 
clean and bright, followed by a color breakdown of the Solar System, Theory 
of the Seasons, verso is color illustrated breakdown of the "National Debts 
of Foreign Countries, compared with the United States, 1890".  At the time 
the United States had a population of 62,790,237 (excluding Alaska. and 
Untaxed Indians), the Debt was $891,960,104, France had half he population 
and over 4 mil. in debt, with Great Britain and Ireland, and Asia being 
close runner up! Following is Historical, Descriptive, and Statistical 
Matter, with a concise review of the world's peoples, richly illustrated 
with engravings. Chapters provided: Review of the US States and Territories; 
political, statistical and historical; two page facsimile of , IN Congress, 
July 4, 1776,The imanious Declaration of the thirteen united States of 
America; Presidents of the US, with a photo and brief biography, verso

Green cloth boards and spine, black and gilt title to front boards, with 
decorations. Black lettering and decoration to spine. Pages 291 and 319 
closed tear to lower edge, margin, not running to map or information. Corner 
rubbed. Spine ends rubbed and chipped, upper front joint 1 1/2 split, lower 
4 1/2 split, front and rear hinges cracked. Few small fade marks to front 
and rear boards. Very clean bright text and illustrations, text block tight 
in covers. Marbled page edges. Folio, 357 pp. A wonderful Atlas filled with 
great illustrations, statistics and facts, about the U.S.A. and the world, 
at the latter part of the 19th century. Very Good, $175.00

The Complete Angler or the Contemplative Man's Recreation: Being a discourse 
of Rivers, fishponds, Fish and Fishing; with Original Memoirs and Notes By 
Sir Harris Nicholas, Walton, Izaak and Cotton, Charles, London, Chatto & 
Windus, 1887: Izaak Walton (1593-1683)  English biographer, wrote this 
classic guide in 1653; telling of the joys of fishing; combining practical 
information about angling with folk lore. The story of three friends (one 
being Mr. Walton), traveling through the English countryside. Glimpses of an 
idyllic and now lost rural life. Reprinted over 350 times since the original 
publication. With Country Squire and translator of many books Charles 
Cotton's chapter, "Instructions How to Angle for a Trout or Grayling in a 
Clear Stream". Sixty one, embellishments and engravings by Struthers and 
Inscape, 32 pages of ads to rear. Engraved frontispiece of Walton tissue 
covered, mild foxing to tissue, (repaired closed tears to tissue), 
illustrated pre-title page. Brown cloth boards and spine, bright decorative 
fish illustrated gilt title panel to front, decorative gilt panels and 
lettering to spine. Spine ends bumped few short closed tears, title rubbed, 
small chip to edge, closed tear near edge. Few ad pages rough cut, few pages 
uncut. Mild toning of text, very clean, solidly bound. In polyester film 
wrap. Beautiful copy of this popular book. 8 vo., 320 pp. $110.00
